Responsibility
We recognize the critical role insurance and reinsurance plays in the global economy, helping moderate the impact of natural and man-made disasters and supporting the communities they impact. In 2021, Resolute Global became a signatory of the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment.
Making an impact
We believe we have the opportunity, and the fiduciary duty, to make a meaningful positive impact on our communities by improving the way companies assess risk and promoting responsible environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices across our portfolio.
Operating in a traditionally opaque business, it is critical to us to maintain an open dialogue among our team and our clients to ensure that our investments promote ESG principles benefitting both our investors and our world. Our commitment begins with the investment management process. In assessing each portfolio position against a range of ESG criteria, we are guided by the following principles:
Diversity, equity and inclusion
Our Board of Directors, senior management, and staff reflect our core ethos and values. We are committed to ensuring that our workplace is free of bias, promoting inclusion, and emphasizing local employment.
Closing the insurance gap
The growing discrepancy between economic and insured losses following catastrophes highlights the under-insurance crisis among vulnerable people and regions. We work with our partners and customers to help close the insurance gap, including with products such as our non-standard auto program which offers comprehensive auto coverage to often under-served populations in the U.S.
Protecting our planet
We believe that understanding and mitigating climate risks protects the value of financial assets while benefiting our society. Carefully studying these risk parameters and evaluating the impact of our changing climate is an important component of our investment process. Furthermore, we hold ourselves and our partners accountable by adopting energy-efficient, environmentally responsible business practices across our organization.
Engaging in our communities
We take pride in our efforts to support the communities in which we live and work. We are longtime supporters of local community projects in Bermuda, including our sponsorship of the Devonshire Cougars, a youth development and soccer program.
